The Mellieħa Local Council would like to thank all those who attended the 5th edition of Mellieħa Nights that were held between the 16th and the 19th of August. Special thanks goes out to all the organisations and artists that in one way or other gave their contribution towards the successful organisation of this event.
This year’s edition saw a record attendance with thousands of Maltese and tourists visiting Mellieħa to enjoy themselves during this activity organised by the Mellieħa Local Council. In fact the commercial community registered record sales and applauded the way this activity was organised. Many people consider Mellieħa Nights to be the largest activity organised by any local council acrossMalta. During this activity main roads and squares are pedestrianised. The Mellieħa Local Council can confirm that this was the best ever attendance for Mellieħa Nights.
As happened in previous editions, one could not but appreciate the participation of foreign guests hailing from twinned towns including dancing group fromCyprusand musicians fromItalyandGermanywho took part in this year’s edition.
Mellieħa Nights also proved to be the ideal showcase of two projects enacted by the Mellieħa Local Council in the Mellieħa Historic centre. These are situated in Misraħ iż-Zjara tal-Papa and the playing grounds near Triq l-Erwieħ.
